In the gospels Jesus said, “I came to serve, not to be served.”
The iServe project was born out of a desire for FLC to be a place where people’s needs are met. These needs can include a need to provide, to connect, and to receive. We all experience these. So we created a way for everyone at FLC to feel at home, to build meaningful connections, tobuild involvement and find significance outside of Sunday mornings, and to build a community of service in Jesus’ name.
The iServe board is intended to make it easy to put people in relationship with each other and to build a culture of service. We want to make it as simple as possible to mobilize people who have the skills, time, or talents to meet needs of people in our community. It is a great way to worship and serve God by developing relationships and serving others.
There are a few guidelines for the iServe board.
- All needs and services must be free.
- Needs/services should be able to be met in no more than two visits, unless an arrangement is made between individuals.
- Babysitting/childcare is not accepted as a need/service at this time.
