Tim O'Shields, Minister of Music and Worship
I am very happy to be at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea after spending twenty years in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Long, cold winters and plenty of snow are not new for me! I know that the Hand of God was in the calling to come here--not only to be the music director, but to be a part of the ministries and outreach of FLC. We will work together to build on the wonderful music programs that already exist here at FLC. Also, an important focus is to build music ministry and outreach programs for the children and youth of our church.
First Lutheran is wonderful place to worship and it is very exciting to have a full selection of worship services ranging from traditional to contemporary and some "in-between". We have a wonderful organ for the traditional sounds. Thanks to all the people who have worked hard to have and maintain that glorious instrument. I love to balance the traditional music with the exciting sounds of our praise band and singers--what a blessing.
I was originally born in South Carolina, so you will detect a southern accent. However, adjustment to Minnesota life is coming naturally. I have even been to a ludafisk feast and learned to make lefseh. Thanks for your warm welcome and open arms!
