Building & Grounds Superintendent

First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea is seeking to hire a Building and Grounds Superintendent.  This is a full time position with benefits.  Starting pay would be in the $15 to $20 per hour range depending on education, qualifications and experience.  Duties include custodial maintenance of an approximately 75,000 square foot building on 5 levels; boiler maintenance; operation of a skid loader with attachments for snow and ice removal; lawn care; set up for meetings; electrical, plumbing repairs and maintenance; kitchen work–helping volunteers and dishwashing; ordering of supplies; contracting with specialized services; general handyman tasks; meeting with staff; supervision of custodial staff; leading volunteer crews; working with properties committee members; leading hospitality; etc.

Qualified candidate must have (or within a reasonable time be able to obtain) a Class C boiler operator’s license; work well on a team; have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License; pass a background check; have Christian faith; be an active member of a Christian church; be ‘handy’; have basic computer skills; like to keep things well maintained and clean; be friendly and helpful; be willing to work some evenings, very early mornings for snow removal, and alternating weekends.
