Building and Grounds Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Building and Grounds Supervisor is responsible for maintenance, repairs of equipment, repair and upkeep of building, supervising custodial staff and scheduling, ensuring the building is in order, snow removal and boiler maintenance and upkeep. This job includes determining job priorities, supervising and reviewing custodial staff. This positon will use their judgement on identifying and resolving problems within the maintenance department and will train new members that come on the team. Overall supervision of the custodial team and building.

Reports To: Church Administrator

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma
Class C Boilers License or to obtain within 60 days of employment

Preferred Education:

Class C Boilers License or to obtain within 60 days of employment

Required Qualifications/Experience:

1) Be a believer and follower of Jesus
2) Proficient in email and online ordering.
3) Obtain and Boilers License within 60 days of employment
4) Efficient in operating skid-steers and lawn mowers
5) 2+ years of previous supervisory experience
6) The ability to supervise the work of other staff.
7) The ability to operate a variety of tools as required by the job.
8) Communicating effectively with other staff members and congregation members.
9) Have a valid MN Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

 

Responsibilities:

1) Schedules and assigns work of maintenance staff and giving instruction when needed and inspects work of others to ensure proper completion.
2) Orders supplies for the building including but not limited to paper products, custodial supplies, coffee and anything pertaining to the building and maintenance.
3) Responsible for general maintenance, repair and upkeep of the building and property.
4) Schedules inspections to identify preventative maintenance needs and to maintain the building
5) Strong Interpersonal skills
6) Work with other staff and congregation members to ensure the building is safe and secure.
7). Maintain the boiler system and the cooling system
8) Watches the budget to ensure you are within the guidelines of costs
9) Maintain the grounds outside the building including, landscaping, mowing grass, snow removal, weed eating and other things as needed.
10) Consults with, secures quote, schedules and monitors the work of outside contractors while maintaining effective  work relationships.
11) Performs various remodeling jobs at the facility and utilizing outsides sources when necessary.
12) Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor which are consistent with the position, and in compliance with policies and procedures.
13) Estimating maintenance and repair costs.
14) Put together reports for future projects at FLC along with the estimated cost of the project
15) Work with the Property Team to accomplish goals and to ensure budget compliance.
16) Facilitate set up and tear down for all special events and funerals.
17) Opening the church on weekdays and weekends. Closing the building up on your weekend to work.
18) Leading Volunteer crews and leading hospitality
19) Be Self Motivated

 

Work Schedule

Monday- Thursday 7-4  (1 hour lunch)
Every Third weekend or as needed for events planned.
